The American Queen Voyages company contacted us to design, fabricate and install all the common areas in the newest addition to their fleet, the Countess. We collaborated with their vessel designers and company heads to come up with shop drawings for each piece of cabinetry for the ship after discussing the desired theme and appearance of each area. These included the dining room, library, game room, river grill, main bar and lounge, theater, spiral stairs and various sitting areas through out the boat. Wainscott or full wall paneling was carried through out the vessel with ceiling moldings and beams features in various areas. In the dining room, the central point of attraction was the curved buffet line with 25 foot wine cabinet built in behind it. Here, the ceiling recesses here were trimmed with wooden moldings housing LED lights hidden behind the trims. The library consisted of two large cabinets housing reading materials with a long bench seat bookended by two quarter round columns and an artificial fire place. The river grill had a more modern feel with a buffet line and bar built in. The theater featured large ceiling beams and half wall panels and the bar lounge area contained a semi round stair case ascending to the second deck. The game room had two large cabinets containing open display items and closed compartments for board games and other sources of entertainment.
